A Moment with June Beginnings
Interviewee Amber Lazzaroni, the face behind the beautiful candle business, June Beginnings, tells us all about boss mama biz life and what drives her passion.
Who makes up your fam?
We are a family of 6! Me (Mum), dad, Layla, Reece, Ryder and our fur baby Sadie!

Tell us a bit about what you do…
I’m a chandler at June Beginnings. I create sculptural candles, vessel candles, diffusers and melts! Sculptural creations are definitely my main product though.
What inspired you to open your biz?
I’ve been a stay at home mum for many years and felt I needed something for me. Something I could call my own, work towards and be proud of while also helping financially for our family. It’s the perfect creative outlet.
When did you realise this is what you wanted to do?
I’ve always loved candles and I fell in love with the idea of sculptural candles. It’s a piece of art, decoration and scent all in one!
What is your favourite thing about being a biz owner?
Freedom, in every form: Freedom to express myself, freedom to pick my own hours and freedom to spend time with my family on my terms.
How long has your biz been established?
Two years!
Where do you see your biz being in 5 years from now?
Honestly much the same as now hopefully! I grew relatively quickly and am in the place I wanted to end up, so very grateful for that but there is always room for growth so I guess we’ll report back in 5 years!
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Hmmm so many but probably being able to stock in so many beautiful businesses, it was also an exciting time when I realised I have now shipped to every state in Australia!
Who are your biggest cheerleaders and why?
Other small business owners. The candle community is soo supportive and we all want the best for each other, as well as my fellow local small businesses who always cheer me on.
How has motherhood changed you?
Patience perhaps?? And learning to juggle everything at once.
What is one item you can’t live without?
My coffee machine!
What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you?
Not everyone is your customer and that’s okay!!
